Why Are Bats Important?
As the primary predators of nocturnal insects, bats play a vital role in maintaining the
balance of nature. And, as consumers of vast numbers of pests, they rank among humanity’s
most valuable allies. A single little brown bat can catch hundreds of mosquito-sized insects
an hour, and a typical colony of big brown bats can protect local farmers from the costly
attacks of 18 million root-worms each summer.
What Can You Do To Help?
Install A Bat House: Finding a bat house is an easy task. You can find them online through the Bat Conservation and in your local feed and grain stores.
Buy An Adopt A Bat Tee: We will donate 10% of all sales during the month of January 2010. Our artist, Wendie Salmi also donate her royalties directly back to the Organization For Bat Conservation!
Adopt A Bat: You can adopt a bat directly through the Organization For Bat Conservation. It is super easy and the money helps fund the costs of caring for that specific bat. We adopted Gandolf in 2009! Here is a picture of the bat we adopted, Gandolf.

Be Pesticide Free: Purchase certified organic foods & apparel that are produced without the use of pesticides.
